Infected is both topical and gritty. Summer Blackman pulls no punches as Scarlet, and her friends battle their way through a zombie ridden post-apocalyptic world.  
Summer stylishly touches upon drug abuse, tobacco, and alcohol use, as well sexual activity. Her approach to these shows the maturity of both her and her generation. 
Their journey brings, new friends, new challenges, and new sorrows. It’s a hell of a story with an unexpected twist at the end.
